Grace Notes Handbell Choir
What makes handbell music so fascinating is how many different sounds and techniques are used by a group of 12 people to create one unique musical experience. At First Church handbells have honored saints with the toll of a solitary bell, celebrated the birth of Jesus as a soloist plays 24 bells hanging on a tree, and prayed for harmonious peace out of a world of chaos with a full ensemble.
Handbells is an excellent way to learn how to read music. Handbells provide an opportunity for instrumentalists to use the music reading skills learned in High School. Training in handbell techniques is available.
Grace Notes rehearses on 4 octaves of Malmark Handbells and 3 octaves of Handchimes Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and provide music in worship once a month as well as for the Hanging of the Greens Service and Good Friday Service.
8:30 Music Team
The Music Team has a passion for worship in a contemporary style. Guitars, keyboard, tambourines and voices join to sing favorite praise choruses and the latest tunes heard on Contemporary Christian radio. Attention CREW MEMBERS: Join the Music Team to learn and continue singing the songs from Pilgrimage! The Music Team offers music at the 8:30 a.m. worship service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
The 8:30 Music Team rehearse on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 5 p.m.
When was the first time you participated in worship? Children's Choirs provide our preparatory members their first experience in offering the gift of music to the glory of God. Through music children learn stories of the bible, praise and fundamental beliefs in Christianity. Two age appropriate choirs are offered. Both rehearse at 4:15 p.m. every Sunday, August – April.
