Children
Our Children’s Ministry program encompasses children from birth through the 5th grade. Our hope is that we can partner with parents in the discipleship of their children so that all who come through our doors at First United Methodist Church will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our programs include small groups for specific ages, outreach within our community and social activities with their family. God made each child as His special creation and we have a special place in this ministry for them. Please contact Dana Vaughn at Children@fumcfv.org with any questions.
Children’s Church
This ministry is for children that are four years old through second grade. It is provided during our 11 a.m. Worship service. The children are dismissed to Children’s Church after their special time with our Pastor. The kids are able to experience their own mini worship service that includes music time, Bible story time, learning the Lord’s prayers, Doxology and Apostle’s Creed and giving of their offering.
Family Night
Join us on the first Friday night of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship hall. Each month we have different activities, ranging from movie night to water night, science night to family Olympics. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with your own family as well as your church family. Supper is provided! (We do not meet on major holiday weekends).
This ministry is open to children in the 3rd through 5th grades. We meet twice a month on Sunday evenings from 5-6:30 p.m. Our meetings include supper, fellowship time, devotion time and activities. This program is set up to prepare the children as they grow in their walk with Christ and to get them ready to serve in the Youth group. We also focus on mission work and outreach in this program.
Nursery
We provide nursery for all services and Sunday School. We have an 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Worship service and Sunday School is from 9:30-10:30 a.m. All volunteers in the nursery have been cleared through our Safe Sanctuary policy to serve in this ministry. Nursery is provided for children from birth through four years old.
This ministry is open to children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. We meet once a month on Sunday afternoons from 3:15-4:15pm. Our meetings include learning about a different Biblical Superhero each month, playing games/activities and enjoying an ice cream sundae at the end of our meetings! This program is set up to teach children of the many "super powers" that God has given us and to help us become more like Jesus, the greatest Superhero ever!
Join us each summer for a fun filled way to experience and learn about God! Our VBS program is usually held in June and open to any child 3 years old through 5th grade. Music, games and science experiments are all part of a very fun week that will bring our children closer to God.
